Christina has worked in public affairs, and business development for more than twenty years in Greece and abroad. She served as Chief of Staff for the Dean of the Hellenic Parliament, and as Senior Advisor for the political leadership at the Greek Ministry of Infrastructure, Transport and Networks and the Ministry of Education, Religious Affairs, Culture and Sports. Her high-profile public and political affairs positions at the US, and Australian embassies have added to her experience with different administration and governance systems.
For the last eight years, she has been involved in business development projects for new technologies and sustainability that range from ESG strategy and audits to renewable energy to the blue economy as Managing Director of Verture, a global consulting firm, where she has been instrumental in creating and marketing Verimpact, a leading proprietary ESG tool and methodology. Verture’s diverse clientele includes, the European Commission, UNEP, Hill Intl and IBIDEN.
She assisted in establishing the EPLO Institute for Sustainable Development (ISD), a joint initiative of the Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership, and EPLO, an international organization, and the Blue Platform for Sustainable Ocean Economy in Portugal. Through its activities in public policy and mainstreaming sustainability, the SDGs and ESG, the EPLO ISD is now an Official Nominator of the Earthshot Prize in 2022 and has published a series of IUCN publications in Greek. Building on her work on ESG, in July 2021, she co-founded and has been leading the editorial team of ESG Greece, a news portal on ESG and impact investing in Greek with a weekly newsletter in English.
A firm believer in gender equity and the SDGs, she has been a mentor at Unreasonable Group, Innovyz Australia, and in the EIC Women Leadership Programme (WLP) with an aim of inspiring women to take over leadership positions.
She commenced her career teaching English and Translation at the University of Chicago, the University of Athens and the French Institute of Athens.
Christina holds an MA in the Humanities from the University of Chicago where she was a Fulbright Scholar, and a BA in English and Greek from the University of Athens. She has been trained in Public Diplomacy and Cultural Affairs at the Foreign Service Institute, US Department of State. Fluent in Greek, Spanish, English and has studied Mandarin Chinese and Italian.
