She is a Pediatrician and Public Health Physician, specialized in Public Health and Social Medicine.

She studied Medicine at the Università degli Studi di Bologna and she continued with postgraduate studies at the National School of Public Health.

She worked in the 1st Regional Health Authority and in the Central Department of the Ministry of Health, where she served also as Head of Department and Deputy Head of the Public Health Directorate.

She has participated in many committees and working groups at national and European level, dealing with Public Health. In addition, she is member of the European Public Health Association, and she was member of the Board of Directors of the Panhellenic Association of Public Health Physicians of the NHS.

In July 2023 she was appointed Secretary General of Public Health.

She is married and she has two children.
