Effie Panagopoulou
Effie Panagopoulou is a distinguished author of stories, plays, books, and song lyrics. Her works have been awarded and presented at significant cultural events. Within the thematic series “The Mythical Melodies of the Rivers” (Tourism Awards 2023) lies ” Alpheus Journey” performed by the Contemporary Music Orchestra of ERT, with music by the award-winning composer George Voukanos. The book with the same title has been distributed to schools in Greece and Italy. Also from this series, her work “In the Waters of Ilissos” was presented in 2023 by Camerata Junior, while she wrote the libretto for “Thesmophoria Dance, an Ode to the Earth,” which won an award at the Tourism Awards 2024.
Effie Panagopoulou has also written librettos for major works, such as “Zalongo, Dance of Women, Silent Symphony ” focusing on violence against women, as well as the works “This is How It All Began” and “This is How It All Continued,” which were presented during the commemorations of the Fall of Tripolitsa. Moreover, she has been actively involved in cultural initiatives centered on inclusion and the protection of vulnerable social groups.
She created the thematic series “The Children Talk to Us” under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture, which focuses on inclusion and promoting children’s sensitive emotional worlds. This series includes the English-translated works “Christos’ Sweet Sugar Free Story,” “Who’s Bothering Christina?”, and “Theodore and the Adventure of Healthy Eating,” addressing issues such as eating disorders and school bullying. Through these works, she raises awareness on important topics affecting children, utilizing her extensive experience in education.
Effie Panagopoulou is the Development Manager at CAMPION SCHOOL and General Manager of ANTHOS MCE and has been awarded for her contributions to culture.
