The composer Giorgos Voukanos has written symphonic works, song cycles, soundtracks for television, and music for theatrical performances. His compositions have earned him worldwide recognition and awards. In 2025, his new audiovisual music piece, Caryatid, the Daughter of Athens, an innovative sound and light musical spectacle, will premiere. In 2024, he received an award at the Intercontinental Music Awards in Los Angeles for The Secret Song of the Castle. In 2023, he was honored by the Global Music Awards (California, USA) for his works Areton Anotera and Terra Olympia, and the same year, he was candidate at the prestigious MASS Awards (London). In 2022, his composition Aria Passion was performed during the 25th anniversary celebration of Fashion TV beneath the Acropolis, and was awarded by the American TIL Awards (USA). That same year, he presented an excerpt from the opera Prometheus, with a libretto by Efi Panagopoulou, during the opening ceremony of the Cultural Connection between Greece and China in Nanjing, China. He is the recipient of four Tourism Awards and the International Travel Award (Dubai). Voukanos has collaborated with numerous artists and musical ensembles both in Greece and internationally, and his discography exceeds 48 CDs.Giorgos Voukanos’ dedication to culture and music is reflected in his roles as the Artistic Director and founder of various festivals, including the International Festival of Art & Culture of Andravida-Kyllini (2011-2021), the 1st International Festival of Ancient Feia (2022), and the International Festival of Ancient Elis (2015-2018). He is also the founder and Artistic Director of the Melody Spirit Institute and the Xenios Festival – The Host Festival.
