Takis Papadopoulos was born in Patras, Greece in 1968. He attended the 3rd all-male Junior High School of Patras and the Classical High School of Patras. He continued to study Law at the National Kapodistrian University of Athens and since 1992 he has been practising Law as an Attorney of the Hellenic Supreme Court (Arios Pagos) in the city of Patras, Greece.

Since the beginning of his professional career he has been involved in the community affairs of the Patras Bar Association.In 1996 he was elected member of the Board of Directors of the Patras Bar Association  and served as Vice-Chairman of the Board of Directors from 2011 to 2017.

He has served as member of the Board of Directors  of the  “Association of Young Lawyers and Interns/trainee-lawyers of Patras” and has represented the Association of  ‘’Pan-Hellenic Federation of Unions for Young Lawyers and trainee-lawyers’’. He was Head of the “Commission for the Rights of Refugees and Migrants” of the Patras Bar Association.

From 2004 to 2008 and 2012 to 2018 he was member of the Boards of Directors of AS Apollon Patras, Apollon Patras B.C. and “KAE Apollon Patras” B.S.A. He has served as member of the Board of Directors of the Hellenic Federation of Basketball SA Companies (ESAKE) from 2013-2016 and as Treasurer of the Board from 2013-2014.

From February 2017 to May 2018 he served as Chairman of the Regional Department of the Hellenic Red Cross in Patras, Greece.

He often writes articles for the local newspaper «Peloponnisos»

In the 2019 Regional Elections he was elected Regional Councilor for Achaia with the party «Ola apo tin Archi» headed by Regional Governor of Western Greece, Nektarios Farmakis. 

He was elected President of the Regional Council of Western Greece in September 2019 and remained in that position until January 2022, when he assumed the duties of Deputy Regional Governor for Coordination, Administration, and E-Government. From January 2024 until today, he has been the Deputy Regional Governor for Entrepreneurship, Research, and Innovation of the Region of Western Greece, responsible for the European Programs of the Region of Western Greece and for Europe Direct of Western Greece.
