George Karagiannis was born and grew up in Thessaloniki.
He is a graduate of Law School (LLB) from Neapolis University with post graduate studies in Services Management at the Athens University of Economics and Business.
He has served as General Secretary of Communication and Information with responsibility for the image of the Greek Government in abroad, the management of 36 press offices around the world, as well as Managing Director at the E.T.A. S.A.
In the past he provided consulting services in the private sector.
At the present time he is General Secretary of Infrastructure in the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport, while he has been an executive of Attiko Metro S.A.
He is married and father of two children.
He speaks excellent English.
